Sasha Bakhru: A Scientist to Notice

Scientists like Sasha Bakhru don’t come around every day.  Bakhru is making waves today in the fields of both science and medicine.  There are a few reasons to take note of this key scientist.

First of all, he’s an integral part of the revolutionary specialty pharmaceuticals company known as Perosphere Inc.  He serves as the VP, CTO, and Co-Founder of Perosphere Inc.  This innovative company is changing the face of pharmaceuticals forever.  Their aim is to change drug designs and delivery technology for what are known as “rescue” drugs.

Unlike many other pharmaceutical companies, Perosphere is incredibly selective in the type of chemicals and therapeutics that it employs.  They only use high quality chemicals. Perosphere’s goal is to change the way that drugs are distributed and delivered.  They’re currently in the process of gaining patents on their innovative products.

In addition to his duties at Perosphere Inc., Sasha Bakhru is also an adjunct assistant professor of medical science at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.  He has studied science and medicine extensively.  He graduated in graduate studies in engineering science with an emphasis in biomedical and mechanical engineering.

Bakhru has many projects and various types of research going on outside of his teaching and pharmaceutical career.  He is working to design polymeric hydrogel-based scaffolds for ex vivo neural stem cell expansion.  One of his most significant contributions to the field of science was engineering a microcapsule-based platform that is capable of detecting the impact of various biochemical and topographical cues on both growth and diversity.

One of Bakhru’s biggest passions is the study of stem cells.  He has conducted some essential research on the use of stem cells using rat stem cells.  Bakhru believes in the capacity of stem cells to heal millions of people all over the world and is dedicated to the important research involved.
